Furthermore, IOCL plans to engage a select number of candidates as Graduate Apprentice Engineers (GAEs) in specific disciplines, in accordance with The Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and subsequent amendments. Successful performance during the apprenticeship may lead to absorption into the Corporation at the officer level pay scale.

Who Can Apply
- Indian Citizens are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have appeared and qualified in GATE 2022
Eligible Disciplines (GATE 2024): Candidates must have qualified in GATE 2024 examination from one of the following disciplines to be eligible:
- Chemical Engineering (GATE 2024 code: CH)
- Civil Engineering (GATE 2024 code: CE)
- Computer Science & Information Technology (GATE 2024 code: CS)
- Electrical Engineering (GATE 2024 code: EE)
- Electronics & Communication Engineering (GATE 2024 code: EC)
- Instrumentation Engineering (GATE 2024 code: IN)
- Mechanical Engineering (GATE 2024 code: ME)
- Metallurgical Engineering (GATE 2024 code: MT)
Candidates can only apply from one of the above disciplines. To apply, candidates must have not only qualified in GATE 2024 from one of these disciplines but also completed their BE/B.Tech in the same discipline (or the corresponding engineering discipline as mentioned in para 1.4).
For instance, if a candidate qualified in GATE 2024 in both Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering, and holds a BE/B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, they can apply only for positions related to Instrumentation Engineering in this recruitment.
Qualifying in GATE 2024 from disciplines other than the eight mentioned above will not be considered eligible for these advertised positions.
GATE scores from previous years (GATE 2023 or earlier) will not be accepted as valid for eligibility
